 KELLY VERGIN NAMED SPORTS INFORMATION DIRECTOR
Vergin joins long line of successful SID's, with impressive credentials.
Brockport, NY--Kelly Vergin joined the athletic family as the Sports Information Director in July 2005. Kelly takes over for Er`ic McDowell who held the position for four years, and joins a proud tradition of Sports Information Directors at the college, which includes Michael Andriatch (Director of Alumni Relations and Planned Gifts - The College at Brockport), and Gregg Pastore (Coordinator of Website Operations - Buffalo Bills).
Kelly comes back to his alma mater (class of '89) after successful stints as an intern at Division I power house Purdue University, and as Sports Information Director at SUNY Albany, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and most recently Plattsburgh State University.
In addition to his expertise in the sports information field Vergin served for five years as the operations manager for Las Vegas Sports Consultants, formerly a subsidiary of CBS Sportsline, and was a sports writer for the Watertown Daily Times, where he helped establish the newspaper as northern New York's number one daily newspaper.
As an undergraduate at The College at Brockport Kelly received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a Sports Management concentration. He is currently enrolled in the Athletic Administration master's program at the college.
