Brockport Earns Three SUNYAC Players of the Week (11/17/2009)
Whitney Smith, Josh Zenkel and Dan Brigano are recognized by the conference
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected three Brockport student-athletes as the player of the week for the week ending November 15.
Whitney Smith (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) was the Women's Basketball player of the week as she scored a game-high 21 points in the Golden Eagles loss to St. Lawrence. In addition, she finished with seven rebounds, six assists and two steals.
Senior Josh Zenkel (Webster, NY/Webster-Thomas) earned the men’s basketball player of the week as he led the Golden Eagles to a season opening 75-72 victory over St. Lawrence. Zenkel led five players into double-digits with a team-high 15 points, including 12 in the second half. The senior guard was 4-6 from the free throw line in the final minute to seal the victory.
