Divers Lead Swimming & Diving Teams at Geneseo
Maria Quagliana and Dan Brigano each win both diving events at the Geneseo Invite

Sophomore Maria Quagliana (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) and junior Dan Brigano (Utica, NY/Utica-Proctor) won both the one- and three-meter diving events to lead The College at Brockport Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving teams Saturday at the SUNY Geneseo Invitational Meet in Geneseo.

The Brockport Women placed third as a team in the five-team meet and the Brockport Men took fourth overall.

Quagliana posted scores of 203.70 in the one-meter event and a 188.85 in the three-meter event, scoring a total of 32 team points for the Golden Eagles. Sophomore Nicole Morgan (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) took fourth place in the 200-yard freestyle and was also the fifth-place finisher in the 500-yard freestyle. Catie Swartz (Auburn, NY/Auburn) finished third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.13 seconds, while sophomore Karen Davis (Castile, NY/Letchworth) took fifth in the same event less than a half second behind Swartz.

Brigano used a score of 236.75 to win the three-meter diving competition and posted a similar score of 230.20 for the victory on the one-meter board. Sophomore Rob Cornish (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) was sixth in the 1000-yard freestyle and took 10th in the 200-yard freestyle for Brockport.
