Two Divers Qualify for the NCAA Championships

Junior Dan Brigano (Utica, NY/Utica-Proctor) and sophomore Ben Green (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) each scored over 400 points in the one-meter diving competition to earn provisional qualifying positions for the NCAA Division III Championships in results from Saturday’s dual meet for The College at Brockport Swimming & Diving squads at Utica College.

The Brockport men posted a 136-36 victory by winning each event on the day while the Brockport women posted a 133-103 victory.

Brigano scored a 480.90 and Green finished with a 439.75 to earn consideration for the NCAA Championship meet. Sophomore Rob Cornish (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) set a new pool record in the 1,650-yard race, breaking the old mark by over 14 seconds with a time of 17:44.71.

Nicole Morgan (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) won two individual events to pace the Brockport women as she paced the field in the 1,650 freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke.
