Swimming & Diving Drops Dual at RIT

 Maria Quagliana wins the one-meter diving at RIT(credit: Michael Pratt, MLPhoto) Junior Dan Brigano (Utica, NY/Utica-Proctor) won the three-meter diving competition and sophomore Maria Quagliana (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) took top honors in the one-meter diving, but The College at Brockport Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving squads dropped thier final dual of the season to RIT Wednesday night at RIT.
The Brockport men fell by a score of 146.5-77.5 but defeated Wells College by a 155-37 margin. The Brockport women dropped a 142-74 score to the Tigers.
Quagliana scored a 234.50 on the one-meter board for the victory as she outscored the second-place diver by nearly 25 points. Brigano scored a season-best 270.75 to win the three-meter competition.
Brigano took second in the one-meter event and Quagliana was second in the three-meter dives. Other second-place finishes for the Golden Eagles included Zach Ashley (Freedom, NY/Pioneer) who took second in the 1,000-meter freestyle race and Cody Burns (King Ferry, NY/Southern Cayuga) in the 100-meter freestyle. For the Brockport women, Nicole Morgan (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) was the runner up in the 500-yard freestyle.
