Maria Quagliana Finishes in Top 20 at NCAA Championships
Sophomore competes in both one-meter and three-meter diving events
March 20, 2009
Sophomore Maria Quagliana (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) scored a 376.20 in the three-meter diving event and a 310.05 on the one-meter board to finish 20th and 22nd, respectively, at the NCAA Division III Championships on Wednesday and Friday at the Twin Cites Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Quagliana is the first female to qualify for the NCAA Championships in the history of the Brockport Swimming & Diving program. She earned a spot in the national championship meet with school-record performances in each event at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships in February in Buffalo.

The sophomore set school records with scores of 396.75 in the three-meter competition and 391.85 in the one-meter event at the SUNYAC Championships. She finished third in both events.
