Two Doubles Teams Win on Day One of SUNYAC Tennis Championships
No. 1 and No. 3 Doubles each win first round matches

The College at Brockport's first doubles team of Kaitlyn Broderick (Bohemia, NY/Connetquot) and Carolyn McMenemen (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) defeated their counterpart from SUNY Fredonia and Brockport's third doubles team of Katie Keller (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) and Erin McLaughlin (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) defeated the doubles team from SUNY Plattsburgh in the first round of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tournament Friday at the Eastside Racquet Club in Syracuse.
Brodaerick and McMenemen won by a 6-1, 6-4 score and advanced to the second round of the doubles competition that continues Saturday morning. McLaughlin and Keller won a 6-4, 7-5 decision at No. 3 doubles Friday and also advanced to the second round for the Golden Eagles.
The No. 2 doubles team of Katelyn Richenberg (Stafford, NY/Batavia) and Natalie Wright (Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision to the team from Oneonta in its first-round match.
Doubles competition continues Saturday and the singles competition is scheduled to begin Saturday with the tournament finishing Sunday.
