Alyssa Fitchette Earns SUNYAC Player of the Week
Volleyball senior totals 92 kills in five matches September 28, 2009
 Alyssa Fitchette named SUNYAC Player of the Week(credit: Michael Pratt (MLPhoto)) The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced that senior middle blocker Alyssa Fitchette (Watertown, NY/Watertown) is this week’s Volleyball Player of the Week.
Fitchette led the Golden Eagles to a 4-1 week, including a 4-0 performance in the first round of the SUNYAC Pool Play in the west division.
The middle blocker amassed 92 kills and hit .370 with 16 blocks in the five matches. Against conference opponents she averaged 4.87 kills per game, 26 digs and 14 blocks. Fitchette had a career high 26 kills in a 3-1 win against Fredonia, the most by a Golden Eagle since 2002.
This is the second time this season Fitchette has been honored by the SUNYAC as she previously earned co-recognition on September 8.
