Volleyball Finishes Second in Pool Play
Golden Eagles Fall to Geneseo and Beat Buffalo State

The College at Brockport women's volleyball team clinched the second seed in the West Division of Pool Play with a 6-2 record after going 1-1 on the second day of action in Fredonia.

The Golden Eagles battled to a tough 3-2 loss to SUNY Geneseo by scores of 15-25, 25-18, 17-25, 25-20, 15-9 to start the day before defeating Buffalo State, 3-1 (25-19, 25-14, 21-25, 25-19).

Alyssa Fitchette (Watertown, NY/Watertown) led the way against Geneseo with 19 kills and 12 digs. Heather Carroll (Windsor, NY/Windsor) added 11 kills and Amanda Yachetta (Falconer, NY/Falconer) dished out 36 assists. Melissa Maxwell (Batavia, NY/Batavia) collected 16 digs.

In the match against Buffalo State, Fitchette totaled 13 kills and five blocks and Carroll chipped in with 10 kills. Kelly Nowak (Orchard Park, NY/Sacred Heart) finished with 11 kills and three aces and Yachetta registered 31 assists.

Brockport will play at the NY Regional Challenge at Ithaca College Oct 31-Nov. 1 before traveling to the SUNYAC Championships Nov 5-7 at SUNY New Paltz where they will face Oneonta in the quarterfinals.
