Brockport (16-9) and Oswego (11-14) face each other for the third time this season with Brockport winning both of the regular season meetings. The Golden Eagles won a 65-47 decision in Oswego in mid January and posted a 72-56 win at Brockport on February 7. The 72 points is the second-highest point total of the season behind the 74-point output against Mt. Aloysius College early in the season.
The teams have faced each other in the SUNYAC Tournament six times and have split the meetings with each team winning three games. Oswego has won the last two meetings, knocking the Golden Eagles out of the tournament in the semifinal round in 2005-06 and 2006-07. The last Brockport win over Oswego in the tournament was a thrilling 74-67 overtime win in the SUNYAC Championship game on 2004-05.
Brockport is the defending SUNYAC Champions after defeating Buffalo State, New Paltz and Cortland last year with all three games played in Brockport. The Golden Eagles have won nine consecutive SUNYAC Tournament games played in Brockport.
Brenlyn Campbell (Williamsville, NY/Lewiston-Porter) and Whitney Smith (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) lead the Golden Eagles offense as Campbell scores at a 15.8 points per game clip and Smith boasts an 11.9 points per game average. Against Oswego, Campbell scored over 20 points in each game with 24 and 21 while Smith scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the first meeting and hit for a career-high 24 points and had nine rebounds in the second matchup.
