Head Coach: Traci Lian
Traci Lian is in her sixth season as
the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at
The College at Brockport. In her five seasons at Brockport, she has compiled a record
of 48-27 and was named State
University of New York Athletic
Conference (SUNYAC) Coach of the
Year in 2007. Lian also serves as athletic
ticket manager and Champs Life Skills
Coordinator as well as one of SUNY Brockport’s Student-
Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) advisors.
Lian leads a program that has produced winning seasons in eight of the last nine years, including all five under Lian.
The Golden Eagles have improved steadily each year during
her tenure and are poised to join the elite lacrosse programs
in the East Region.
The 2007 season saw many team records fall, most
notably the school record for wins in a season with 13. The
Golden Eagles finished with a 13-5 mark and were 6-1 in
the SUNYAC. The squad advanced to both the ECAC and
SUNYAC Championship games in 2007. Senior Ashley
Taylor set the single season win mark for a goalie and set
the all-time school record with 31 career victories. Brockport
also landed four players on the All-SUNYAC teams.
In 2006, Lian guided the Golden Eagles to a 10-5 record
as Angela Inzinna, who led Brockport with 92 points on 43
goals and 49 assists, was named All-Region, First-Team All-
SUNYAC, and a preseason All-American by Lacrosse
Magazine. Inzinna graduated with all nine offensive school
records (goals, assists and points in a game, season and
career).
The 2005 season saw the squad advance to the semifinals
of the SUNYAC tournament and the ECAC playoffs, with
four players being selected to the All-SUNYAC teams.
During one stretch of the season, the Golden Eagles won
five straight games finishing with a 9-6 record.
In 2004, the team won the New York State Women’s
Collegiate Athletic Association (NYSWCAA) title. Angela
Inzinna and Lauren Kerwawycz scored four goals apiece to
lead SUNY Brockport to a 14-13 overtime victory over
Elmira in the women’s lacrosse championship game. The
Golden Eagles were seeded first in the NYSWCAA
tournament and improved to 10-6 overall with the win. In
addition, the team set a new record in goals in a season with
218, which shattered the previous mark of 181 set in 1998.
In 2003, Lian’s first as head coach, the team finished 6-5 overall and 3-4 in the conference. The Golden Eagles just
missed the SUNYAC Tournament after a fifth place finish
in the conference.
A 2000 graduate of Nazareth in Business
Administration, Lian completed her master’s degree in
Athletic Administration at The College at Brockport in 2003.
Lian served as Brockport’s Assistant Sports Information
Director from 2001-2003. Prior to that, she was the Assistant
Women’s Lacrosse Coach at SUNY Fredonia. She also was
the Sports Publicist for the SUNYAC (State University of
New York Athletic Conference) for the 2000-01 season.
While at Nazareth, Lian played four seasons of varsity
field hockey and lacrosse, and was an Empire 8 second team
