Graduate student Julia Decker (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan) scored twice in each half to lead The College at Brockport Women’s Lacrosse team but the Golden Eagles dropped a 19-11 decision to William Smith College Thursday in the second game of the annual Spring Break trip to West Palm Beach, Florida.

Brockport (0-2) fell behind 7-3 midway through the first half but rallied for six of the next seven goals through the end of the first half and into the second half to take a 9-8 lead. The go-ahead goal, scored by Decker, came three minutes into the second half.

William Smith (2-0), ranked No. 17 in the latest national poll, responded with eight straight goals and 11 of the next 12 to finish with a 19-11 victory.

For Brockport, freshman Carly Motondo (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) had two goals and one assist while fellow freshman Karen Bianchi (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) added two goals. Junior Melissa Hill (Rochester, NY/Brighton), freshman Dayna Piraino (Syracuse, NY/Henninger) and sophomore Amanda Massmann (Bohemia, NY/Connetquoit) each scored once for the Golden Eagles.

Jamie Kaminski (Oakdadle, NY/Sayville) made 15 saves in the Brockport goal.
