Graduate student Julia Decker (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan) scored four goals and added an assist but it was not enough as The College at Brockport Women’s Lacrosse team dropped an 18-11 decision to St. John Fisher College Thursday afternoon in the home opener for the Golden Eagles in Brockport.

Freshman Carly Motondo (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) scored with 22:36 left in the first half to tie the score at 3-3 but St. John Fisher (1-3) scored nine of the next 12 goals to forge a 12-6 lead. Brockport (0-4) scored twice in the final minute of the half with freshman Dayna Piraino (Syracuse, NY/Henninger) and Decker scoring to cut the lead to 12-8 at the halftime intermission.

Brockport scored two of the first three goals in the second half to cut the lead to 13-10 but Fisher rattled off five straight goals to pull away for the win.

Piraino scored a pair of goals for Brockport while Motondo added two goals and an assist.

Jamie Kaminski (Oakdale, NY/Sayville) made 15 saves in the Brockport goal.
