Freshman Dayna Piraino (Syracuse, NY/Henninger) scored four goals and added an assist for The College at Brockport Women's Lacrosse team but RIT stopped a late Brockport rally and pulled out a 16-14 victory Saturday in Brockport.

RIT (4-2) scored the first three goals of the game and led 7-5 with six minutes left in the first half. The Tigers scored four straight goals for an 11-5 lead before Brockport's Amanda Massmann (Bohemia, NY/Connetquot) raced down the field for a goal with less than two minutes left in the first half to cut the lead to 11-6 at the halftime intermission.

In the second half, Brockport (0-5) scored three of the first five goals to trim the Tiger lead to 13-9. RIT scored twice in a four-minute span for a 15-9 lead but Brockport battled back with five straight goals – three by Piraino – to cut the lead all the way to a single goal at 15-14 with 1:22 left in regulation. RIT controlled the draw and used a spread offense to run down the clock before adding a late goal for the final score.

Melissa Hill (Rochester, NY/Brighton) scored three times for Brockport and freshman Karen Bianchi (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) added three goals as well. Julia Decker (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan) chipped in two goals and two assists while Alyssa Case (Baldwinsville, NY/CW Baker) notched a goal and an assist for the Golden Eagles.
