Women's Lacrosse Wins Second Straight Game
Golden Eagles handle New Paltz with a 20-10 victory at home

Freshman Dayna Piraino (Syracuse, NY/Henninger) scored four goals and had five assists for nine points to lead The College at Brockport Women’s Lacrosse team to its second-consecutive victory with a 20-10 win over SUNY New Paltz Saturday in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game in Brockport.

Brockport (2-7 overall, 2-2 SUNYAC) broke open a close game late in the first half with eight straight goals in the final 14 minutes and led 14-4 at the break. New Paltz (2-7, 0-4) struck back with five of the first six goals in the second half to cut the lead to 15-9 but Brockport finished with five of the final six goals for the final decision.

Piraino scored three times in the first half and added the first Brockport goal in the second half. She also assisted on five goals including three straight in a two-minute span late in the first half.

Melissa Hill (Rochester, NY/Brighton) and Karen Bianchi (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) each scored four goals while Julia Decker (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan) added three tallies for the Golden Eagles. Lindsey Cayea (Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) and Carly Motondo (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) scored two goals each and Marlise Piraino (Syracuse, NY/Henninger) added one goal and one assist.

Sophomore Jamie Kaminsky (Oakdale, NY/Sayville) made five saves for Brockport.
