Women's Lacrosse Pulls Out Close Match
Golden Eagles Win Third Straight Game, Beating Fredonia 13-10

Freshman Carly Motondo (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) scored three goals and assisted on four more to give The College at Brockport Women’s Lacrosse team its third-consecutive victory with a 13-10 win over SUNY Fredonia in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) matchup Tuesday in Brockport.

Brockport (3-7 overall, 3-2 SUNYAC) broke a 10-10 tie with 10:36 remaining in the second half on a goal by freshman Karen Bianchi (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee). Bianchi recovered a ground ball off a rebound before firing a shot past the Fredonia goalie.

Brockport held its biggest lead midway through the second half with a 10-7 advantage before Fredonia (7-3, 1-3) used three straight goals to tie the score at 10-10.

Freshman Dayna Piraino (Syracuse, NY/Henninger) and Melissa Hill scored three goals each for Brockport. Motondo scored two goals and recorded three assists in the first half to help Brockport to a 6-4 lead at the halftime intermission.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jamie Kaminsky (Oakdale, NY/Sayville) made 10 saves for Brockport.
