Stephanie Walker, the first-year head coach of The College at Brockport Women’s Lacrosse team has resigned to assume a teaching and coaching position in her hometown of Corning, NY.

The Office of Intercollegiate Athletics will immediately be conducting a search for a coach for the upcoming 2009-10 season.

Walker guided the Golden Eagles to a 5-9 overall record and a 5-4 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) finish in her first season as the head coach of the program. She was an assistant coach with the Women’s Lacrosse team in 2008.

Walker is a 2007 graduate from Elmira College with a bachelor’s in Secondary Education and played two seasons for the Soaring Eagles. She scored 95 goals, good enough for the second-highest total in Elmira school history. Walker received Empire 8 First Team All-Conference recognition both years at Elmira.
