Women’s Soccer Wins ECAC Upstate Title (11/15/2009)
Brockport celebrates winning the 2009 ECAC Upstate Championship.
Michelle Gibaud named the tournament’s most outstanding player
Senior Michelle Gibaud (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) scored a goal and added an assist to lead The College at Brockport Women’s Soccer team to a 3-1 victory over Medaille College in the championship game of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Upstate New York Tournament Sunday at A. Huntley Parker Jr. Field in Brockport. Gibaud was named the ECAC Upstate NY Tournament Most Outstanding Player after scoring two goals in the semifinal win over SUNYIT and the game-winning goal today for the Golden Eagles.
Brockport (12-4-3) struck in the second minute of play when Gibaud fired a shot that was knocked away by Medaille (10-9-2) keeper Alexa Wisel. Junior Jess Bush (Dryden, NY/Dryden) one touched the loose ball into the lower right corner for a 1-0 lead.
