Women's Soccer Advances to ECAC Championship Game

Junior Jessica VanAllen (Chatham, NY/Chatham) scored twice in a span of 12 minutes to lead The College at Brockport Women’s Soccer team to a 4-0 victory over SUNY Potsdam in the semifinal round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Upstate NY Soccer Tournament Saturday afternoon at RIT. Brockport advances to championship game and will face RIT for the ECAC Upstate NY title at Noon Sunday at RIT.

After a scoreless first 32 minutes of the game, VanAllen scored the first of three quick goals for the Golden Eagles (11-5-3). Junior Nicole Gibaud (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) scored a little more than two minutes later to make it a 2-0 Brockport lead and then VanAllen scored her second of the game just before the end of the first half and Brockport took a 3-0 lead into the halftime intermission.

In the second half, freshman Taylor Lanio (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) scored with 20 minutes to play for the final score.

Senior Liz Durfee (Williamson, NY/Williamson) made one save for the Golden Eagles for her 19th career shutout victory as Brockport held a 12-2 shots advantage in the game.
