The College at Brockport Women’s Soccer team suffered its second loss of the season and had its 11-game unbeaten streak snapped as SUNY Cortland handed Brockport a 1-0 loss Saturday afternoon in a conference game in Brockport.

The two teams were held scoreless in the first half with Brockport (8-2-3, 4-1-2 SUNYAC) holding a 5-2 shot advantage.

Cortland found the back of the net at 68:00 when Bridgette DeSantis crossed the ball from the right side to Jackie De Luise, who fired a shot to the lower left corner of the net for the 1-0 lead.

Brockport had an opportunity to tie the game at 79:34 when senior Michelle Gibaud (Rochester, NY/Greece Arcadia) centered the ball to senior Rachel Murphy (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland), whose shot missed wide right. Two minutes later Gibaud had a chance herself to find the equalizer from the top of the key but the ball sailed over the crossbar.

Erin Asquith (Arcade, NY/Pioneer) stopped six shots for the Golden Eagles, who have only allowed two goals in the last five games.
