Women's Soccer Falls to Buffalo State in SUNYAC finale
Brockport Earns Third Seed in SUNYAC Tournament October 24, 2009
 Erin Asquith made seven saves for Brockport.(credit: Michael Pratt (ML Photo)) The College at Brockport women’s soccer team secured the third seed in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) tournament with a 2-0 loss to Buffalo State Saturday afternoon in Buffalo.
Brockport (9-3-3 overall, 5-2-2 SUNYAC) will host #6 Cortland in the quarterfinals of the tournament on Oct. 31st. The semifinals and finals of the tournament will be held in Oneonta on Nov. 6-7.
Against Buffalo State (7-4-5, 5-3-1), the Golden Eagles were called for a hand ball in the box in the 19th minute and the Bengals converted the penalty shot for the early 1-0 lead. Buffalo State extended the lead in the 61st on a shot from 30 yards out.
Brockport held a narrow 13-10 edge in shots, but the Bengals had seven corner kicks to the Golden Eagles' one.
Jessica VanAllen (Chatham, NY/Chatham) registered three shots for Brockport and Erin Asquith (Arcade, NY/Pioneer) took the loss in net, making seven saves in the contest.
The Golden Eagles will complete their regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 27, in SUNY Cobleskill at 3pm.
