Women's Soccer Hosts SUNYAC Quarterfinals

The College at Brockport women’s soccer team locked up the third seed in the SUNYAC standings and earned its 13th consecutive trip to the SUNYAC postseason. The Golden Eagles will host No. 6 Cortland in a quarterfinal match on Sat., Oct. 31, at 1:00 p.m. at A. Huntley Parker Jr. Field.

Tickets will be sold at the gate for $5 for the general public and $2 for students with valid ID. No complimentary tickets will be issued.

The Golden Eagles clinched the third spot with a 3-0 win over Fredonia and concluding the conference regular season 5-2-2 mark and an overall record of 10-3-3. Cortland is 11-4-2 overall and finished three points behind Brockport in the conference standings with a 4-3-2 record in league play.

Cortland defeated Brockport 1-0 at Huntley Parker Field on Oct. 17, netting the game-winning goal in the 68th minute of play.

Senior Jessica VanAllen (Chatham, NY/Chatham) leads the Golden Eagles with nine goals and 20 points, followed by junior Jess Bush (Dryden, NY/Dryden) who has 16 points, including a team-best six assists. Sophomore Erin Asquith (Arcade, NY/Pioneer) has been the starting keeper on the season with six shutouts and a 0.72 goals against average with a .887 save percentage.

The winner of the Brockport/Cortland game will advance to play second-seeded Fredonia in the semis on Fri., Nov. 6 in Oneonta, NY.
