Six Wrestlers Advance to Semifinals at Messiah Tournament
Seven total wrestlers still alive in the tournament

Juniors Shawn Hainey (Brentwood, NY/Brentwood), Glen DiStefano (Lackawanna, NY/Lackawanna), Jabril Patterson (Syracuse, NY/Adirondack) and Josh Bloom (Manchester, NY/Geneva) along with sophomore Ryan Fallot (Amityville, NY/Kellenberg) and senior Eric VanPatten (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) each advanced to the semifinal round of the Messiah College Petrofes Invitational Friday in Grantham, Pennsylvania.

Hainey advanced in the 125-pound class while DiStefano and Fallot will each be wrestling in the 133-pound class. Paterson is in the semifinals at 285 while Bloom will compete at the 184 class and VanPatten advanced in the 174-pound class.

Joining the six Brockport wrestlers still in contention in the tournament is freshman Tom Voorhis (Chenango Forks, NY/Chenango Forks) who advanced in the consolation bracket of the 197-pound weight class.

Competition continues Saturday morning in the tournament.
