Wrestling Places Three at State Championships
Golden Eagles finish in 13th place as a team

Junior Glen DiStefano (Lackawanna, NY/Lackawanna) and sophomores Ryan Fallot (Amityville, NY/Kellenberg) and Jabril Patterson (Syracuse, NY/Adirondack) each earned All-State honors by finishing among the top eight wrestlers in their respective weight classes at the New York State College Wrestling Coaches Association (NYSWCA) New York State Championship Tournament featuring all of the wrestling teams from New York in the NCAA Division I, II and III levels as well as the junior college teams.
Brockport scored 28.5 points and captured 13th place overall as the team was led by DiStefano’s sixth-place finish at 133 pounds. Fallot took seventh place at 133 pounds and Patterson was the eighth-place finisher at 285 pounds.
DiStefano lost his opening match of the tournament Friday but rebounded to win three consecutive matches in the consolation bracket before losing a second match and dropping into the fifth-place match where a medical forfeit moved him to sixth place overall.
Fallot, also in the 133-pound weight class, lost his opening bout as well and won twice in the consolation bracket. A loss dropped him into the seventh-place match where he posted a 4-3 overtime victory.
Patterson dropped a close 3-0 bout to start the tournament but posted a pin and a forfeit victory in the consolation round before another close 6-3 loss dropped him into the seventh-place bout. Patterson finished eighth after a 10-3 loss in that match.
In the “B” Division matches, freshman Jon Khoury (Lido Beach, NY/Long Beach) was the second-place finisher at 125 pounds.
