Glen DiStefano Named Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Senior is named SUNY Chancellor’s Award of Excellence winner for Physical Education

Senior Glen DiStefano (Lackawanna, NY/Lackawanna) was voted The College at Brockport 2008-09 Outstanding Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year as voted on by the coaching and athletic administrative staff at the college. The award was presented at the annual Student-Athlete Celebration Saturday, May 10.

DiStefano helped the Brockport Wrestling team to its 47th consecutive winning season in 2008-09 with 16 victories on the mat including seven by pin. The Golden Eagles finished with a 6-1 record in dual meets and won the John Summa Invitational Tournament for the 13th consecutive season.

Off the mat, DiStefano excelled in the classroom earning the top grade point average on the team earning the Outstanding Scholar-Athlete award for wrestling. Additionally, DiStefano was honored as the State University of New York (SUNY) Chancellor’s Award of Excellence winner for the field of Physical Education and was named the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) Physical Education major of the Year.
