Women’s Cross Country Impressive at Lehigh

Sophomore Kelsey Conn (Batavia, NY/Elba) led The College at Brockport Women’s Cross Country team to a ninth-place finish at the prestigious Paul Short Invitational Cross Country race at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania Friday afternoon.

Conn crossed the finish line in 22:27 in the 6K invitational race, which featured some of the top-ranked teams in the country at the Division III level. SUNY Cortland won the team title with 102 points, followed by Edinboro University (113), Univ. of California at San Diego (144), Manhattan (152), Messiah (177), Haverford (232), Adelphia (248), Swarthmore (280), and Brockport (287). Grove City rounded out the top 10 with 294 points. A total of 38 teams were in the race.

Senior Lauren Mesi (East Aurora, NY.Clarence) was the second Brockport finisher in 30th position with a time of 23:00, followed by freshman Katy Kohls (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca) (70th/23:52), sophomore Brittany Streeter (Oneida, NY/Oneida) (79th/23:58), freshman Jen Fasciano (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) (93rd/24:11), freshman Roxanne Smith (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) (122nd/24:44) and sophomore Caitlin McAneney (Hornell, NY/Hornell) (144th/25:01).
