Sophomore Kelsey Conn (Batavia, NY/Elba) finished 13th overall to lead The College at Brockport Women’s Cross Country squad to a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship race Saturday on a very muddy course at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. Junior Pete Manktelow (Hornell, NY/Hornell) led the Brockport Men’s team with a 35th place finish as the Golden Eagles took ninth place as a team. Joining Conn near the top of the leaderboard in the women’s race was sophomore Caitlin McAneney (Hornell, NY/Hornell), as she took 35th overall. All three runners earned All-Region honors with their finishes.

Conn stands an excellent chance to earn a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship race to represent Brockport. The Championship race will take place Saturday, November 22 at Hanover College in Indiana.

Conn took 13th, McAneney was 35th and the rest of the scoring runners for the Brockport women included freshman Jen Fasciano (Rochester, NY/Greece Athena) who finished 39th, fellow freshman Melissa Wassink (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) in 46th and senior Lauren Mesi (East Aurora, NY/Clarence) in 48th.

In the men’s race, Matt Avery (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) placed 39th, senior Doug Teed (Owego, NY/Newark Valley) was 81st, freshman Augie Oetting (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West) was 82nd and Mike Vrabel (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) was 94th.
