Streeter Paces Women's Cross Country to Second Place at Geneseo Invite

The women�s cross country team finished second at the 29th Annual Geneseo Invitational Saturday morning by scoring 92 points to finish behind Geneseo�s 41. Junior Brittany Streeter (Oneida, NY/Oneida) paced the Golden Eagles with a ninth-place finish in 23:03 over the six kilometers at Letchworth State Park in Mt. Morris out of 216 runners. Senior Lauren Mesi (East Aurora, NY/Clarence) ran 11th in 23:11 for Brockport, Caitlin McAneny (Hornell, NY/Hornell) was 17th in 23:36, Melissa Wassiuk (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili) was 26th in 24:00, and Ashley Beyer (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora) rounded out the scoring five with a time of 24:17.

The men�s team finished sixth out of 24 teams at the Geneseo Invite in an eight-kilometers race. Junior Matt Avery (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili ) led the Golden Eagles with a 21st place finish in 26:20 out of 283 runners. Junior Ryan Gilmore (Auburn, NY/Auburn ) finished in 26:46, Greg Selka (North Chili, NY/Churchville-Chili) finished in 27:16, Bradley Frink (Canastota, NY/Canastota) crossed in 27:26, and Josh Coon (Brockport, NY/Brockport) completed the top five in 28:05.

The two teams compete again on Oct. 10th when they run at the Hamilton College Invitational.
