
Facilities and Support Services
The
Department of Biological Sciences is housed in the newly renovated Lennon
Hall, which opened in the fall 2001 semester. Teaching and research
facilities located in the building include an electron microscope, animal
care facilities, biotechnology-related equipment, fluorescent microscopes,
optical confocal microscope with digital imaging system, tissue culture
facilities, CO2 incubators, centrifuges, isotopic counting
equipment, a computer laboratory, and a greenhouse.
Drake Memorial Library is a three-story, air-conditioned, and handicapped-accessible
facility that offers a full range of services in support of undergraduate
and graduate education. Its collection is the largest among the SUNY
colleges, consisting of over 743,650 books and bound journals, 14,822
online serial subscriptions, 100,000 federal and state documents, and
14,000 media items. The library's automated online catalog is accessible
from any place, at any time. Drake Memorial Library currently subscribes
to approximately 175 academic journals in the biological sciences.
