Transfer students from two and four-year colleges are welcomed into the Department of Biological Sciences at SUNY Brockport. Students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher will generally be accepted into the department. Historically a number of students from community colleges throughout New York state have enrolled in the department.
Students holding an approved associate's degree from a regionally accredited college may transfer up to 64 credits. Students without an associate's degree from a regionally accredited college may transfer up to 60 credits and be granted junior status. Biology and Chemistry requirements normally taken during the freshman and sophomore years at Brockport may be transferred if the courses are equivalent. All transfer students are required to complete at least 18 credits of 300/400-level courses within the Department of Biological Sciences regardless of the number of credits transferred. Specific details about transferring courses can be obtained on the Academic Advisement web page for specific details (http://www.brockport.edu/~acadvise/Transers.html) and the department Chairperson.
Students interested in the Medical Technology Program should contact Dr. Thomas Bonner in the Department of Biological Sciences (tbonner@brockport.edu).
