Budget and Resource Committee
The College at Brockport's Budget and Resource Committee was created in 1997 by the Office of the President to allow for consistency and transparency of the budget process and developments that impact the College. The Committee membership includes the College's vice presidents, academic deans, members of College Senate, graduate and undergraduate student representatives, faculty-at-large and staff-at-large representatives, and staff from Finance and Management and Budgeting offices.
Calling for Suggestions! The State of New York, SUNY, and The College at Brockport are facing unprecedented fiscal challenges. State support for SUNY continues to decline with no restoration anticipated in the foreseeable future. Doing business as usual at the College for the next two to three years will completely deplete Brockport's cash reserves, which have been prudently accumulated and managed. The Budget and Resource Committee is reaching out to the campus community -- faculty, staff and students -- for ideas on how to raise revenues and to reduce expenses without adversely affecting the College's core academic mission -- student success -- and its employees. Although six-figure ideas are very welcome, no idea is too inconsequential. Please give us your best thinking on how to raise and save money to maintain the wonderful institution we have created together. To leave your suggestion, please send a message to brc@brockport.edu. Suggestions will remain anonymous. With best regards, James M. Haynes, Chairman |
