Registration for Freshman Students
All freshmen entering for the spring 2010 semester will be sent a letter instructing students on where to find information regarding college requirements as well as instructions on how to submit course preferences online. This mailing will be sent in early November and is triggered by paying your advanced deposit, so please do so as soon as possible. Read through the Freshman Registration Manual on Academic Advisement’s Web page carefully and submit the Freshmen Course Preferences Request on Web Banner by December 1. A schedule will be prepared for you based on this information and will be available during Welcome Weekend.
Residential Learning Communities
Students with similar majors or academic interests can choose to live and learn together in one of the College’s Living and Learning Communities. Each community is facilitated by residential life staff, faculty partners, the Student Learning Center, and the Office of Student Retention. The faculty partners interact informally on a regular basis and also create formal programs and information sessions to get to know students on multiple levels. Sign up for a Learning Community. Space is limited.
Spring Orientation for New Freshmen
Spring Orientation is Friday, January 22, 8:30–11 am, in Cooper Hall, Room B-10. Orientation helps you and your family get acclimated to the campus; become acquainted with faculty, staff and Peer Mentors, receive information about your course schedule; and meet other first-year students.
