Checklist for Enrolling Transfer Students

 


For Students Entering the College Fall 2013

There are requirements, deadlines and important information you need to review and respond to prior to the start of your first semester.

Upon receipt of deposit — the earlier you pay your deposit, the earlier you can register for classes, according to the registration schedule.

  • Beginning around March 1, you will be contacted by the Office of Academic Advisement regarding registration for your fall 2013 classes.
  • The department of your desired major will contact you for advisement and registration for the upcoming fall 2013 semester approximately 2 weeks after the receipt of the deposit and your initial contact from the Office of Academic Advisement.  
  • Following your advisement session, the advisor will provide you your Advisement Key Number which will enable you to go on line and register for classes.
  • Register for classes according to The College at Brockport Registration Schedule.
  • Students paying their deposit after the regular registration period has ended will still be contacted by the department approximately 2 weeks after the receipt of your deposit. You will be able to register after your advisement appointment.
  • Log on to Web Banner  to:
    • View your DARS report. Click here to learn how to read your DARS report:
    • Register for your classes after being advised by the faculty
    • Affirm Enrollment and Accept Financial Responsibility
    • Accept Student Code of Conduct (available the day following course registration.)
    • Log into Web Banner to accept any “offered” financial aid funding included in your financial aid package

  May

  • Complete Online Orientation Modules  available beginning May 15
    • Please note: New transfer students will be charged a transfer orientation fee of $75 (placed on student bill.) The fee is used to offset expenses associated with the College's registration and orientation activities for new transfer students. It is assessed to all students who enter as transfers with 24 or more credits and covers the cost of the first semester advisement, registration and all orientation events during and before the first semester. Students who do not attend all orientation events are still assessed the fee.
  • Housing information  i s emailed to students who plan to live on campus and have paid the advanced housing deposit. Students are encouraged to complete the Online Housing Application by June 1 for best consideration of their preferences.  Meal Plan  information is included in this e-mail to deposited students.
  • Waive health insurance charge   by deadline if student has comparable coverage.
  • Check out meal plan options .
  • Student bills are prepared and mailed to students for the fall 2013 semester.
  • Final college transcripts and high school transcripts (if necessary).  Forward official transcripts to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
  • Register for Saturday of Service happening August 24, 2013.
  • Join  myBROCKPORT .

  June

  • Complete Online Orientation Modules
    • Please note: New transfer students will be charged a transfer orientation fee of $75 (placed on student bill.) The fee is used to offset expenses associated with the College's registration and orientation activities for new transfer students. It is assessed to all students who enter as transfers with 24 or more credits and covers the cost of the first semester advisement, registration and all orientation events during and before the first semester. Students who do not attend all orientation events are still assessed the fee.

  • August 23 : Advisement and registration for all new students who have not registered for classes .
  • August 24:
    • Attend Orientation New Transfer Welcome Brunch-Saturday of Welcome Weekend
