Office of Student AccountsRefundsAll tuition, BSG Fee or room refunds are effective on the date the adjustment is recorded in the Registrar's Office, or on the date of separation as recorded in the Separations Office. Students who will be separating from the College must file a Voluntary Leave Form with the Separations Office. Tuition RefundsThe SUNY Board of Trustees has established the refund policy for tuition as follows:
The first week of classes is defined as the first seven calendar days of the semester. Semesters that begin during the week (e.g., Wednesday) are considered to have the first week end on the following Tuesday. College Fee RefundThe College Fee is not refundable after classes have begun for the semester. BSG, Technology, Athletic, and Health Fee RefundsThe Brockport Student Government (BSG), Technology, Athletic, and Health fees are refundable as follows:
Installment Payment Plan FeeThe Installment Payment Plan Fee is not refundable after classes have begun for the semester. Room RefundsFirst day of classes to mid-term: 50% refund Refund Committee ProcedureThe College Refund Committee considers cases in which a student must withdraw or drop courses for reasons beyond the student's control, and in cases where failure to receive a full refund would create extreme financial hardship. Requests for refunds of a larger percentage than allowed for in the SUNY refund schedule must be made before mid-term of the semester involved. After that, tuition refunds cannot be made. Room refunds authorized by the Refund Committee are calculated by week of occupancy on a prorated basis. To request a refund, the student must provide a signed written appeal that fully explains the extenuating circumstances, along with supporting documentation such as copies of doctors' statements, illness or accident reports, and a statement indicating the resulting financial hardship that will result if the refund is not granted. Appeals should be mailed to: Chair, College Refund Committee The committee will not consider any case that involves
a protested check, or any account, which has been turned over to a collection
agency or the New York State Attorney General's Office until the account
