The Master of Science in Forensic Accounting, a robust and niche program in the School of Business Administration and Economics at the College at Brockport, is designed for students pursuing careers in the exciting and rapidly growing field of forensic accounting, as well as for those students pursuing more traditional accounting careers in the private, public, or non-profit sectors, or as CPAs in auditing, tax or consulting.
The Forensic Accounting program provides accounting students with the 30 hours of additional coursework needed to fulfill the New York State Board for Public Accountancy 150-credit hour education requirement and become eligible to pursue licensure as a Certified Public Accountant. In addition, students completing this program will be qualified to pursue the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certificate through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, as well as the Certified Internal Auditor designation through the Institute of Internal Auditors.
This unique program consists of ten 3-credit hour courses that focus on forensic accounting, auditing, fraud investigation, and related business topics in order to prepare students for a dynamic career in accounting. Courses are offered beginning at 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday on the College’s Main campus.
