Business Administration and Economics
Accounting Major
The Undergraduate Accounting Program at The College at Brockport leads to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. This degree is accredited and registered with the New York State Board of Education. Graduates from this program are eligible to sit for the Uniform CPA examination in New York if they have completed the degree and are registered to sit for the exam before August 1, 2009. After July 31, 2008, students who wish to sit for the CPA examination in New York must complete a total of 150 hours. The 150-hour requirement can be met at The College at Brockport by completing the B.S. in Accounting shown below and one of our Master of Science (M.S.) degree programs in Accounting which can be found by clicking on “Master in Accounting” to your left.
Students should note that the Department does not offer an evening program in accounting at the undergraduate level, however, evening courses for the Masters degrees in accounting will be offered in the evening and late afternoon.
Students enrolled in the B.S. in Accounting degree shown below must complete all College general education requirements plus four groups of business- and accounting-related courses as follows: (1) entrance requirements for the major, (2) corequisite courses, (3) business core courses, (4) upper-level accounting courses. Students without significant work experience are strongly encouraged to complete an internship experience.

Note: To satisfy degree requirements for the B.S. in Accounting, students must: (1) earn a grade of at least C in all required ACC courses, (2) earn a grade of at least C- in all other entrance requirements for the major, corequisite and core courses, (3) earn an overall GPA of 2.5 in prerequisite courses.
