Business Administration and Economics

Business Administration Major

The Business Administration Program at SUNY Brockport leads to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.

Students majoring in Business Administration must complete all College general education requirements plus four groups of business-related courses as follows: (1) prerequisites, (2) corequisites, (3) business core courses, and (4) a specialization of their choosing. Students without significant work experience are strongly encouraged to also complete at least one internship experience. Minimal course grade and program admissions standards apply.

Students are required to select a concentration from one of the specialty areas. Accounting and Pre-law require five courses; Management requires four courses.  Students are encouraged to work closely with their faculty advisor in selecting specialty courses. 12-15

Note: To satisfy degree requirements for the B.S. in Business Administration, students must: (1) earn a cumulative GPA of 2.5, with no grade lower than C-, in prerequisite courses, to guarantee admission to the program; others may be admitted at the discretion of the Department of Business Administration and Economics on a space-available basis. (2) Earn a grade of at least C- in all prerequisite, corequisite, business core and specialty courses. (3) Earn an overall GPA of 2.0 in all courses used to satisfy the prerequisite, corequisite, business core and specialty courses.

Note: Students must complete all prerequisite courses with an overall prerequisite GPA of at least 2.5 and no prerequisite course grade lower than "C-." Completion of the business major requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 in the corequisite, core and specialty area course requirements. Students must earn a grade of at least "C-" in each corequisite, core and specialty course to satisfy degree requirements.
