Accounting Major

The Undergraduate Accounting degree at The College at Brockport leads to a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Accounting. At the School of Business Administration and Economics, we continually assess student learning in an effort to help our students excel academically and to reach their full potential. One such way that we ensure student success has been through the implementation of, and adherence to, a set of learning goals for each degree.

The Accounting degree is accredited and registered with the New York State Board of Education. Graduates of this program are eligible to sit for the Uniform CPA examination in New York if they have completed a total of 150 credit hours. The 150-hour requirement can be met by completing the B.S. in Accounting program (shown below) and our Master of Science (MS) in Forensic Accounting.

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science, Accounting degree must complete all College general education requirements and the following four groups of business- and accounting-related courses:

  1. Entrance requirements for the major
  2. Corequisite courses
  3. Business core courses
  4. Upper-level accounting courses.

In addition, students without significant work experience are strongly encouraged to complete an internship experience.
