Meet the Staff

Jill Wesley,
Director of Career Services

Jill joined the career services staff of the College at Brockport in August, 2013. Jill's first job after college was working for Korn/Ferry International, an executive recruiting firm. Her second job was working in student services at Boston College's Graduate School of Social Work. She decided to combine her interests in the hiring process and higher education into a career of helping students figure where they fit into the world of work. While working at Purdue University's Center for Career Opportunities and as an online faculty member at Baker College, Jill developed an interest in how technology was changing how people worked and looked for jobs and has continued to explore this topic during her time working in career services. Jill received her undergraduate degree in English from Dartmouth College. She also holds an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a JD from Indiana University - Indianapolis.

Jeff Alston,
Assistant Director of Employer Relations & Internships

Jeff Alston is the new Assistant Director of Employer Relations & Internships at The College at Brockport.  Jeff decided to transition into Higher Education/Career Services after working thirteen years in Human Resources for Family Dollar Stores, Inc. and most recently with the Baltimore Convention Center.  Jeff is excited about bringing his real world experience to assist students in finding employment as well as employer outreach. 
Jeff received his MBA from Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD and his Bachelor's from Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, NC.

Phyllis Griswold,
Senior Career Counselor

Phyllis is a Senior Career Counselor and higher education professional with 15+ years of experience counseling individuals of all ages, including undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni on personal, academic and career-related areas. Her specialty is in assisting individuals in identifying their strengths/talents and linking them to potential careers. Prior to joining The College at Brockport, she was in the outplacement field and assisted hundreds of clients transitioning to new positions, returning to school or planning for retirement. Phyllis has an MSEd. from Brockport as well as an N.C.C. (National Certified Counselor Certificate) and is a LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor). She has been a member of the Career Services staff since 2007.

Chris O'Connor,
Career Counselor

Chris O'Connor is the new Career Counselor in the Career Services Office. For the last three years he was the Assistant Director of Career Development at Keystone College in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He received his Master of Science in College Student Personnel Administration from Canisius College in 2009. He has also worked in Career Services at Hilbert College and Campus Programming and Leadership Development at Canisius College.

Claudia Pietrzak,
Career Services Coordinator

Claudia Pietrzak (pronounced Peter-Zack) joined the team as the Career Services Coordinator in November 2015. She has 5+ years of experience working in marketing, PR, and event coordination. Prior to her role at Brockport, Claudia worked for a variety of small businesses in the Rochester area- most recently at multi-media company Tiny Fish Printing. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Ithaca College in 2012. In her free time, you can find Claudia planning concerts for Sofar Sounds Rochester, traveling, and posting pics to her Instagram (@claudiaptrzk).


Linda Rossi,

Linda Rossi is the Career Services Secretary. She looks forward to supporting the staff, students and mission of the Career Services Office. Linda joins the team from the Rochester Educational Opportunity Center (REOC) in downtown Rochester. She brings many years of office support experience to the Career Services Office. A resident of Kendall, NY, Linda is excited to be a part of The College at Brockport.


Adam Standish,
Coordinator of Student Employment and Extraordinary Academic Scholarship Program

Adam has been part of the Career Services team since August 2013. He has fourteen years of experience in higher education including admissions, advancement, financial aid, student employment, campus life, recruitment, and career services. Adam received both of his degrees from The College at Brockport. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master's degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Non Profit Management. Adam is committed to preparing College at Brockport students to be active, life-long learners in developing and implementing their career decisions. He takes pride in building meaningful partnerships with employers and the College community that support our students career and educational goals.

The MetroCenter Career Services Satellite Center is conveniently located at 55 St. Paul Street, Rochester, NY to provide comprehensive career services to current undergraduate/graduate students who are taking classes at the MetroCenter and alumni who live/work in the Greater Rochester area.

Career Services available at this location include help with career advisement, major selection, résumé writing, cover letters, and interviewing. A Resource Room can be accessed for sample résumés or other career related publications. Personalized career counseling is available in-person, by phone, SKYPE, or through e-mail. Drop-in or call and find out about all the resources available to make your career a success.
