Introduction Overview Costs/Housing Budget Syllabus

2008-2009 Budget Estimate
Public Service Internship Program

Please use the following figures as estimates of your expenses for participating in a Public Service Internship (formerly Albany Semester Program), Assembly Intern Program or NYS Senate Session Program.  These costs are based on full-time enrollment (12-15 credits) and are not applicable to part-time internships.
The estimated costs would probably exceed your regular budget if you were not living in Albany (meals, wardrobe, higher rent in the Albany area etc.).  Costs will differ for each intern based on his/her housing and transportation arrangements.

NOTE:  If you feel your real expenses will exceed the estimated figures, you should contact the Financial Aid Office at SUNY Brockport.  You should give the Financial Aid Office this budget and a copy of your letter of acceptance.   Estimated figures for a semester of the 2007-2008 academic year in Albany include:

1.   Tuition full-time status (actual cost)                                    $2175.00
      Summer cost                       $2172.00

* Students should check with their home campus
         regarding any fees.

2. Books and supplies – usually no textbook, but budget should allow for purchase of supplemental references, etc. on state government or Albany area.
 150.00

3.   Transportation - based on relocation to Albany and daily local travel to and from work site (can be own auto or public  transportation, parking expenses, etc.)
400.00

4.   Room and Board - based on an average of current
Albany area housing (studio or two-bedroom, SUNY
Albany, may include heat/light); provides for some
meals to be eaten out.                                                                        3,000.00
                                                                                                               2,250.00 (summer)

5.   Personal/Clothing - based on several new outfits
      appropriate to professional or business-like
attire; may also need apartment utensils, etc.
Personal expenses will vary, based on adjustment
to new area.                                                                                          950.00

 Total (1-5)                                                                               *$6,675.00 (Fall, Spring)
                                                                                                             $5,922.00 (Summer)
*Actual cost will depend on college fees and housing selection.
