Public Service Internship (formerly Albany Semester Program)
Program Cost and Student Housing
The program cost for SUNY students during the academic year is $2,175 plus any fees normally assessed by their campus. There are no program fees or additional charges associated with the Public Service Internship. Students from SUNY campuses (non-Brockport) typically register and pay for credits at their home campus. SUNY Brockport then bills the student’s home campus for the tuition.
Meals, housing and transportation costs in Albany, NY average $3,400 for the semester. Additional expenses such as clothing and entertainment should be taken into consideration as well. A sample budget sheet developed for SUNY Brockport students is available as well.
The Public Service Internship serves as a clearinghouse to place prospective roommates. However, the program does not provide housing. We do make recommendations and suggestions on where to find suitable housing, but the final choice is up to the student.
