All information can be downloaded for mail merge application letters. We recommend searching by telephone area code.
American Association for Employment in Education: A national professional association of college career centers (The College at Brockport is a member), and school district recruiters. Advice on job seeking, and a virtual job fair. You also may use their database of openings, Project Connect. Contact us for an access password.
NY Ed Jobs and The New York Times: databases of openings in New York.
Teachers-Teachers: Supported by the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, this site has listings in all states.
The National Teacher Recruitment Clearinghouse: This is a site for "prospective teachers seeking jobs and for school districts and states seeking qualified teachers." How to Find a Job includes job search strategies, where there are teacher shortages, and a database of nationwide and international job banks. There are links to state education departments and state contacts for licensing and financial aid.

Career and College Planning Resources -- A great site that includes hundreds of links to career quizzes, skill assessments, career webquests, exploring specific careers, college information and preparation, career development and planning, etc.
Survey of Graduates: What's happened to Brockport graduates? This page offers breakdowns by majors and salaries, and shows job titles and employers hiring.
Occupational Outlook Handbook: From the Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, learn the duties, demand and salaries for hundreds of occupational fields. A related (and easier to use site) is Ocouha.
Career Voyages: a federal site focusing on careers in growth and emerging occupations.
Professional Associations: Almost every occupation has a related professional association with conferences, newsletters and a membership directory. Many welcome student members. A great job-hunting resource, particularly for those with an unusual interest. Try one of the search engines (Google or others) and enter the phrase "professional association" plus your field of interest. Example would be "professional association tax accountants" or "professional association art therapists." Or try the Riley Guide A-Z index to find one for your fields of interest.
NY Career Zone- take a quick and easy on-line career test.
O'Net- The federal government's site. Several on-line assessments to help you determine your strengths and skills, and decide which careers complement you.
SUNY Careers: Sponsored by all of the Career Services Offices in SUNY, this site has regularly updated lists of other sites organized by topic, major, type of job, etc. Also helpful if you want to check out career events, job fairs and services at a SUNY campus closer to your home.
The Riley Guide or Job-Hunt.org Both sites are meta-lists- career and job search links organized by topic . Check their alphabetical list of all career topics. Save time searching with this or the previous site.
JobWeb: Published by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, this e-zine has timely articles on job outlooks, the job search process, and choosing/researching careers.
eVenturing- A web site that describes itself as "A world of resources for entrepreneurs."
Health Care Management CareersCareers in Computing- information from the Association for Computing Machinery.
TestingTest Prep Review- a free site with a host of practice exams and tips.
NYS Teacher Certification Examination: Required for those wishing to teach in New York. Bulletins are available in our office or use the on-line registration.
Praxis Teacher Examination: Required for teacher candidates in many states outside New York
Graduate Record Exam: Required for admission to many graduate programs nationally.
Miller Analogies Test: Required for admission to some graduate programs.
