On-Campus
Interviewing at SUNY College at Brockport
BENEFITS
Setting up an on-campus
interviewing visit at SUNY Brockport is cost effective, efficient and
productive because it allows you to meet with several qualified candidates
on the same day. We will provide you with many qualified candidates
for you to choose from whether you are looking for a full-time professional
or a part-time intern. There is no cost to you to utilize this service.
The staff at SUNY
Brockport will make all of the necessary arrangements including:
- posting your upcoming
visit on our Internet JobShop system
- notifying appropriate
faculty of your upcoming visit
- collecting the
resumes of qualified students and sending them to you as one packet
- contacting selected
students and setting up your schedule for the day
- setting up lunch
with faculty from the academic departments from which you would be
recruiting
SETTING UP A VISIT
The first step
to setting up an on-campus visit is to select a time frame for your
visit. Our campus
calendar is available here. Directions
are at this link. The staff at SUNY Brockport needs
a minimum of approximately three weeks to set up your visit and
get information out to potential candidates.
We will also need
a copy of the position description(s) for which you are recruiting.
This should include the title, a brief description of the duties,
requirements for the position (minimum GPA, majors, technical skills,
etc.) and contact information at your organization.
OTHER INFORMATION
You may wish to
set up an information session that is open to all interested students
prior to your recruiting visit. This is an excellent opportunity
to meet with candidates in an informal setting. You may do this
the night before an interview date or at any time prior to your
visit.
We highly recommend
that you plan to advertise
your visit in the student newspaper, the Stylus (will
open new browser window).
We have negotiated a very affordable rate for this option. It is
suggested that you plan to place the ad the week that resumes are
due for prescreening.
You can also meet
with the faculty in the academic departments where you are primarily
interested in recruiting. You may host all of the faculty in a reception
or we can arrange a one-on-one lunch meeting with a faculty representative.
