The department's mission is to improve, develop, and manage interdisciplinary art programs, and to facilitate the exploration of the uniqueness and mutual relation of the arts, as well as their relationship to other disciplines. The department will initiate aesthetic education programs for school children, college students, and community members. The department manages Arts for Children (graduate and undergraduate), Art History, Arts Management, and Music programs. For more information on these programs, please refer to the alphabetical listings of the individual programs. The department also organizes music concerts, Brockport College-Community Chorus, Jazz Ensemble, and Gospel Music.
IDA 590 Topics in Fine Arts (A). An advanced seminar which covers topics related to arts and their inquiry based on interdisciplinary approaches. The exact nature of the topic and instructional methodology are defined by the instructor. 3 Cr.
IDA 699 Independent Study in Fine Arts. Prerequisite: Instructor's permission. Studies fine arts from an interdisciplinary approach or explores their relationship with other disciplines. Designed individually in consultation with the instructor/sponsor and in accordance with the procedures of the Office of Academic Advisement prior to registration. 1-3 Cr.
