This office provides students with information and advice concerning
academic policies and procedures, evaluates transcripts from other
institutions to determine Brockport credit, conducts the College's
probation and dismissal program, coordinates the Degree Audit
Reporting System [DARS], coordinates all advisement/ registration
programs for new students, and provides information and advice
concerning academic eligibility for financial aid.
Located on the main floor of The Rakov Center for Student Services,

Academic Computing Services operates Dailey Hall Computing Center.
The building, located at the west end of the Mall, contains five
computer classrooms and large open access areas. A wide variety
of computing hardware is available including over 150 networked
IBM, Zenith and Macintosh personal computers plus Sun and HP work
stations.
The Prime 6650 mainframe is accessible from Dailey, from residence
halls and offices on the campus fiber optic network, and from
off-campus through dial-up modems. All students are eligible
for accounts that allow access to e-mail, Internet, Gopher, World
Wide Web and Drake Library's computerized catalog system. Instruction in a variety of applications as well as in uses of Internet and World Wide Web as research tools is offered by ACS at the beginning of each semester. The Admissions Office is the point of entry for all new students at SUNY Brockport. On-campus admissions information sessions are available each Monday, Thursday and Friday at 1 pm when classes are in session. Campus tours are provided Monday through Friday at 11:30 am and 2 pm throughout the year when classes are in session. Admissions information sessions and campus tours are also available on selected Saturdays and holidays in the fall. Students should always bring high school transcripts, and ACT or SAT scores or college transcripts to enable our professional staff to discuss their admissions potential. The Division of Adult and Continuing Education plans for and promotes
SUNY Brockport's programs and services to the adult learner.
To this end, the Division is involved in curricular concerns
and student services, including developing and delivering courses
to off-campus sites, coordinating the development and implementation
of telecourses and providing in-service training to area institutions
and businesses.
It is responsible for several publications including ACE Today,
the newspaper for adult students; fact sheets; and other materials
designed to recruit, enroll, and retain adults. The Division
also develops and coordinates the following workshops for adults:
The College Connection, the college information sessions on teacher
certification and undergraduate and graduate studies; and orientation

The Bursar's Office is responsible for the collection of tuition, fees, room and meal plan costs. The office also issues refunds, distributes financial aid funds, distributes student payroll checks, and certifies eligibility for the New York State Tuition Assistance Program. Career Services offers a full range of programs to assist students and alumni with each phase of career development, from initial exploration through pursuit of full-time professional employment upon graduation. Housed in the office are Career Planning and Advisement Services, a Career Resource Room, Cooperative Education, Community Service, Experiential Education, Placement Services, and Student Employment. The Counseling Center at SUNY Brockport assists students in an
atmosphere of confidentiality and support. Whether the service
provided is individual or group counseling, and whether the assistance
is provided in a single visit or over an entire semester, the
ultimate objective is the same: a more effective and adaptive
individual, increasingly able to capitalize on his or her own
resources, and to cope with future situations.
Staff in the Center are trained in fields such as counseling,
counseling psychology, and clinical psychology, and have extensive
experience in working with a college population. The Counseling

The "basics" are provided by the Brockport Auxiliary
Service Corporation (BASC), a not-for-profit corporation managing
dining services, the College Store, Thompson Conference Center,
as well as video and vending services. As an on-campus student,
you must enroll in a dining option plan.
You can eat anywhere on campus--the choice is yours. The BASC
Dining Services Department is committed to providing you the most
complete dining program to be found on any campus. In fact, the
SUNY Brockport concept of diversified dining was recently recognized
by SUNY students as the #1 Dining Service in the entire
SUNY College system. The quality and convenience are second to
none.
There are two cafeteria-style dining halls on campus:
Harrison Dining Room is the larger of the two dining halls. Harrison
is well-known for its unique, built-in charbroiler, tremendous
salad bar and pasta bar. There you will find a classic, all-you-can-eat
buffet, featuring several entrees--including vegetarian offerings--and
nutritional information for those concerned about their dietary
intake.
Brockway Dining Room is surrounded by the freshmen residence halls
and is known for its quaint atmosphere, friendly service and awesome
breakfasts with Belgian waffles you make yourself! At lunch and
dinner, Brockway features home-style cooking and a New York-style
deli bar.
There are also several dining locations featuring both national
and local brands:
Trax offers fresh-dough pizza, subs, Buffalo-style chicken wings
and an abundance of sweet treats from noon until midnight. Trax
also features cable TV for relaxed viewing.
The Gallery Restaurant offers a full range of carefully prepared
culinary choices in an atrium-like, garden atmosphere. The menu
is appetizing--from sandwiches to a huge luncheon buffet, a favorite
of our student customers.
Union Square is our very popular food court filled with a variety
of flavors and aromas. It is the most convenient and popular
gathering spot. The food court features all sorts of quick-service
food. From freshly baked-on-the-premises cookies to nacho chips
and cheese, Union Square is there when you've got the munchies
between regular meal times. Vending machines with hot and cold
foods are ready when you are. Sumptuous food offerings include
Mexican, Italian, Greek and Chinese specialties and even KFC Express.®

The Office for Students with Disabilities/ADA Compliance provides
support and assistance to individuals with medical, physical,
emotional, or learning disabilities; especially those experiencing
problems in such areas as academic program, career choice, employment,
or adjustment to the campus environment. Among the services provided
are those related to accessibility of campus facilities, adaptive
equipment, notetakers, alternative testing, advocacy and referral
to appropriate governmental and community agencies.
The Coordinator for the Office for Students with Disabilities/ADA
Compliance serves as an advisor to the campus at large on matters
related to disabled services, and works closely with other offices
to ensure that the needs of those with disabilities are met.
The Office for Students with Disabilities/ADA Compliance is located

The Financial Aid Office is responsible for the administration of federal and state financial aid program funds. Services include determination of student eligibility for aid, and counseling on appropriate application for funds. The Financial Aid Office assists students in the payment of their college expenses by providing deferments (credits to the college bill) for financial aid awards. Qualified students are encouraged to participate in first-hand
educational experiences in other countries and cultures.
SUNY Brockport sponsors diverse overseas programs that embrace
many academic fields such as social sciences, physical education,
dance, communication, English literature, history, Spanish, French,
criminal justice, political science, and sociology in countries
such as France, Germany, England, Mexico, Canada, Japan, Italy,
Ghana, Greece, and Jamaica.
In addition to these programs, SUNY Brockport students are eligible
to participate in overseas programs sponsored by other SUNY and

Drake Memorial Library is a modern, three-story facility offering a full range of services. Seating 1,200, the building houses a collection of 430,000 books, 105,000 bound journals, 1.9 million units of microtexts, and extensive collections of documents and audio-visual materials. The collection grows by approximately 12,000 volumes annually. A computerized catalog and other on-line services help users access locally-held materials as well as offsite information databases. The library's schedule varies, so patrons are advised to call the recorded information service number, (716) 395-2288, for current hours. |

The Office of Registration and Records is responsible for all
registration activities, and for creating and maintaining permanent
academic records of all students. These responsibilities include:
all registration procedures, including dropping, adding, and withdrawing
from classes; production of all editions of the "Schedule
of Classes" used for registration purposes; verification
to other SUNY Brockport offices and external agencies that students
are officially enrolled; collection and distribution of grades,
and posting of those grades to students' permanent records; and
the provision of transcripts of students' permanent records.
The Office also assists students and alumni to assemble a credentials
file containing letters of reference, and provides such files
to prospective employers and graduate schools upon student request.

The Office of Residential Life, in the east wing of Hazen Hall, is the central management group for the residence hall system. Through its staff of Resident Directors, Resident Assistants, Night Desk Attendants, and other support personnel, the Office provides a program to ensure a high quality of life in the residence hall system that complements SUNY Brockport's educational mission. Residential Life is involved in almost every out-of-classroom student activity. Among others, concerns in the following areas can be resolved through contacting this office: judicial system activity, condition of room/suite/hall, damage/key bills, housing charges, Night Desk Attendant program, personal safety issues, programming/Resident Assistant program, student residence councils, and staff and student development programs and activities. Since July 1, 1993, SUNY College at Brockport has been smoke-free.
Smoking has been strictly prohibited in all campus buildings,
at the Educational Opportunity Center in Rochester, and in all
vehicles owned by the college or its auxiliary service corporation
(FSA). Doorway areas are considered part of the building and
are likewise smoke-free. The only exception to the smoke-free policy is in private quarters in residence halls. In residence halls smoking is prohibited in all areas which students use in common, or to which the public has access. Smoking is allowed in designated student bedrooms only at the request and with the approval of all assigned occupants.
The Office of Student Activities provides and advises a comprehensive
program of social, cultural, recreational and educational activities
and services using all campus facilities and resources.
Events may be planned and scheduled, lockers rented, and newspapers
subscribed to or purchased. A host of other services and opportunities
are available through the Seymour College Union and the Student
Activities staff. The Office of Student Activities also serves
as the liaison between SUNY Brockport and the campus's 13 nationally
affiliated sororities and fraternities, and Brockport Student
Government. The professional staff is also available to advise,
develop and conduct workshops ranging from personal development
to skills enhancement and leadership training, focusing on student
development through involvement in co-curricular programs and
activities.
Located on the second floor of the Seymour College Union, the

The Student Support Services Program (SSSP) provides coordinated
support services to 250 students who belong to one or more of
the following student groups: first-generation college student
(neither parent has a four-year baccalaureate degree), financially
disadvantaged (per federal guidelines), or disabled (verification
is required). The purpose of SSSP is to retain and to graduate
eligible students enrolled or accepted for enrollment at SUNY
Brockport. The program design has four components: academic support;
personal, financial, and career counseling; disabled student services;
and informational, social, and cultural enrichment activities.

SUNY Brockport is approved by the New York State Education Department
for the training of veterans and other eligible persons. The
Veterans Affairs Office assists eligible veterans and dependents
in applying for veterans educational benefits, arranges deferral
of college charges against those benefits, and certifies attendance
