Computer Information Systems Major

Computer Information Systems Major

Description

The Department of Computer Science at The College at Brockport has offered an undergraduate degree program in information systems since Fall 1998 as one of the tracks under the computer science major. Recently, the College has received necessary approval from the State University of New York (SUNY) and the New York State Education Department (NYSED) to designate the program as a separate major. Thus, starting January 1, 2009, students at The College at Brockport will be able to declare a major in Computer Information Systems.

Admission to the Program

Anyone can declare this major.

Program Requirements

Requirements for the new major in Computer Information Systems are identical to the ones listed in the College Catalog (2007-09) for the Information Systems track of the Computer Science major. The same information is also available at the department web site www.brockport.edu/cs. Until the information is revised in the College catalog, all references to the Information Systems track of the Computer Science major and the new Computer Information Systems major should be treated synonymously.
