Biography:
Sharon Belle Render, MS Ed, Counselor, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of
New York, joined the staff in 1993. Prior to joining the Counseling Center she worked in a various areas of Student Affairs,
taught courses, and facilitated groups on-campus. Sharon also has experience in community settings including work with
outpatient substance and drug abuse, working with MICA, and women's and men's groups.
Sharon earned her Master's in Counselor Education with an emphasis in Higher Education track. She is a
generalist who enjoys working with students. Her particular professional interests include body image, grief and loss, GLBT
issues, women's issues, alcohol and other drug issues, and cultural identification. In her spare time, she enjoys spending
time with her dog, music, theater, gardening, decorating, cooking, watching sports, sci-fi, drama, biography, and action
movies.
