This two-week workshop offers students, teachers, and artists the opportunity to use this ancient art form for personal expression, while exploring the creative possibilities and contemporary approaches to this traditional sculpture medium. Emphasis is on the expressive properties of materials as students work with wax and found objects to create original sculptures that will be cast in bronze through the lost wax method of bronze casting using standard investment.
No prior experience is necessary!
You are eligible to earn 4.5 continuing education units (CEUs) for this two-week workshop that will involve lecture, demonstration, hands-on experimentation, a field trip, and the creation of a finished cast bronze sculpture.
