Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Faculty Service
Open only to full-time faculty (regardless of academic rank) who have at least three years of full-time service on our campus. We can submit only one nomination package to Albany for each of these awards except for Excellence in Teaching - we can submit three for that program.
Distinguished Teaching Professorship
Distinguished Service Professorship
Open only to full-time faculty with the rank of Professor who have completed ten years of full-time teaching within the SUNY system. (There is also an award for “Distinguished Professor” that is administered locally by the Office of the President.)
Chancellor's Award for Professional Service
Open only to full-time professional staff who have been at the campus for at least three years. Professional staff meeting these qualifications who are in the Research Foundation, BASC and M/C are also eligible.
Chancellor’s Award for Classified Service
Administered locally at Brockport by the Department of Human Resources, this is open to staff that have completed at least three years of continuous, full time permanent service in the Classified Service position for which they are nominated. Contact Human Resources for SUNY and campus guidelines and deadlines.
Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Librarianship
Open only to full-time librarians with an MLS degree and at least three years of service on our campus.
Previous award recipients please note - as of fall 2007 SUNY modified the eligibility criteria for faculty who have previously received awards so that:
1) Faculty currently holding Distinguished Faculty appointments may not be nominated for an Excellence Award in the Distinguished Rank designation for which they have been appointed; and
2) Recipients of an Excellence Award may not be nominated for an Excellence Award in a different category for a period of five years.
Nominations for these system-wide awards are typically due to deans (for faculty awards) and vice-presidents (for staff awards) by the end of the Fall semester and to CELT by mid-January. SUNY guidelines for these programs can be found at: http://www.suny.edu/provost/facultyAwards.cfm Campus guidelines for each award will be released in August of each year. If you would like to review successful nomination packages, CELT has many available in our office in 100b Edwards Hall. The list of previous winners can be downloaded here. If you are interested in serving on a nomination review committee contact your Dean, the College Senate President, or one of the Vice-Presidents (for Excellence in Professional & Classified Service).
