NOTES FOR PRE-CHEMICAL ENGINEERING STUDENTS
We no longer offer students the option of participating in the 3+2 Cooperative Program in Chemical Engineering. Students enrolled in this program could, of course, earn a BS in Chemistry from Brockport and a BS in Chemical Engineering from a participating College or University, but only after completing a strenuous, 96-credit chemistry major’s curriculum in three years, transferring to a participating engineering school after the junior year, and then completing two years of an equally strenuous chemical engineering major program at the participating engineering school. Over the years, we have found that such students are better served by either:
If you are considering either of the latter two options, you would be wise to follow the academic program given below through your first two years at Brockport. This program will provide you with the beginnings of a strong major in chemistry at Brockport, should you opt to continue at Brockport for a BS in Chemistry. The two-year program would also place you in the courses in mathematics and physics that would prove to be necessary if you were to opt to transfer to an engineering school after your sophomore year.
